How are they with credit limits when you open more then one or two accounts...or at least, what was / is your experience? They mysteriously raised my limit on my first one from $300 to $1000. I applied for another one and they gave me another $300 limit, which they have just raised to $500.
I find them to be without reason.
I started out with 300 cl, 49.00 deposit and 49.00 a/f.
This was 8 years ago.
They sent me another card with 3500 cl, no fee in '07.
Sent back my deposit on the 300.
I combined cards using older date and they said they would waive
a/f which they did once, now they won't.
Then they upgraded my card to a rewards card.
Then they raised my interest rate to 17.9 I am really confused and saddened thay they break their word.
What do you think.????????
That's the thing. I have never had any issues with them so far.
They are just so unpredictable.
They did help me after BK which fell off last year.
I am left with rewards card at 5400 cl and the new
17.9 interest rate.
All started with the 300 starter card.
I made a mistake when I combined them
Hi, I wanted to know why you think it was a mistake when you combined them? I got my first Cap one card in Feb 10, with a CL of $300. Was upgraded to $500 a month and a half ago. I just recently got approved for another Cap one card (this time rewards card) with a CL of $500. I was thinking of combining both so that I don't have so many open accounts everywhere. I currently have a NFCU (just got approved) Rewards CC with a $7,000 CL and a BB Rewards Zone Visa (Limit unknown as of yet). So I want to start consolidating soon.
I was under the assumption that they do not combine cards anymore. Can anyone confirm this?
Do you know whether they still alllow you to combine cards?????
I wanna know too, but I'm afraid to call.
I have had my Cap1 card for about a month now. I am in the steps program, my card is a rewards card. My initial CL is $500, I was informed that my CL will max at $1500 as long as I pay on time and not go over the limit.
Should I try for a second card? My scores are not that great but I did just get this Cap1 card. (Cards I have are; Cap1 $500 cl....Jared $2400 cl...Credit One $850. cl....Firestone $1500 cl....Orchard $400 cl....Best Buy MC $300. cl....Chevron $300 cl.....)
Small balances on about 4 of these cards.....score is at a stand still......
I have three Cap1 cards. All stuck with the initial limits and no hope to get them raised. I would close them but I am waiting for my newer cards to mature first.
