You can pick whatever you want each quarter (so far).

You can pick the same two categories each quarter.  I just did that myself.  I chose bill pay and dept stores for the current quarter and chose these same categories again for the Oct-Dec quarter (they let you choose the next quarter categories about 45 days before it begins).

 

This card is worth app'ing for.  I earned just over $50 in cash back in just 3 weeks of use.  I did a small BT to it (0% BT promo for six months) and when my first statement cut, they had charged me interest.  I called and they immediately reversed the interest charge.  No hassle, no arguing - they just took care of it.  Apparently there is a promo code you are supposed to use if you elect to do a BT online (which is how I made my BT) and I wasn't aware of this.
