Question about closing a secured card

Hello all.  In February of this year I opened a National City secured VISA CC with a $250 CL.  Since that time, I've opened the following accounts:

2/08 Target Red Card $200
3/08 Capital One $600
5/08 BoFA 99/500 $500
6/08 HSBC Plat MC $1500
6/08 NFCU nRewards VISA $2000

I called National City to see when I could upgrade to unsecured and they said I have to call after a year and then reapply.  I really don't like that idea.  I am thinking that this card is pretty much useless to me and I'd rather have my $250 back and put into my savings account.  My question is, since the age of my new accounts is so close, will it hurt me too much to close the National City card?

Any and all advice is welcome!  Thanks, Kristale. :smileyhappy:
