Question about closing low limit cards and no usage cards...

I' m thinking of closing my "toy" cards...low limits and 0 balances now..

Vic's Secret..$350
Buckle..$250
Eddie Bauer..$250

Should I also close these cards I haven't used too?..

Re: Question about closing low limit cards and no usage cards...

Why do you want to close them?. Why not leave them open and let the credit history build?  Even if you never use them they might stay open for quite a while before they are closed.

You still have a long way to go in your rebuild. These cards, even if at zero balance, are helping you rebuild.

Maybe in a year from now it might be time to maybe perhaps think about closing them. No rush now.

Good luck as you work on score increases!

Re: Question about closing low limit cards and no usage cards...

Normally I advocate closing something you don't use, but until you get into a prime bank card (my first was Chase Freedom) I would keep them open.  Once you've obtained a prime card then I would consider closing.
