Question from my Mom!

So guys my mom has a Macy card, I guess it is a credit card because on her Macy statement it say her credit line is $400. Is this a credit card or store card or is it the same? She has this card for 6 years to date already and I was wondering if she can request a CLI?

Re: Question from my Mom!

If it is just the plain Macy's card then it is a store card that can be used for store purchases.  If it's the Macy's Amex then she can use it for purchases at Macy's and other locations.  Either way it is a credit card, since she is allowed to carry a balance.

Yes, she can request a CLI.  Does she have other CCs?  Any missed payments or other problems on her files?  Does she know her credit score?

Re: Question from my Mom!

The Macy card was her first card and she say it's around 6-9 years old... She also has amex bce (6000), freedom(700), CSP (5000), and TYP ( 5500). Her credit scores are all 750+. Never miss a payment for 9 year and nt bad n 0 balances on all cards.

I would call up and ask for the CLI to go to $5k, they will counter with the highest they can go.

Also they will tell you it'sa  hp and almost always it's NOT... they use the SP on file.

Looks like she's overdue for a CLI if she wants to start using it again.  Was there any kind of usage at all before or did she forget about the CC?  Hopefully they will be able to grant a CLI via SP.  Good luck on your mom's request.
