Re: Quick question on a CLI

I just spoke with a Csr at cap 1 and he pretty much told me that you get the one increase and it's highly unlikely I will get a second increase even with a request, increased income, and good payment history even after the 6 month wait between CLI. Not the best news, just have to get my score up a bit and will go for chase slate Smiley Happy

Scores 5/1/15: EX 746 TU 743 EQ 746

Capital One QS1 $3,800... Capital One QS $3,050... Amex BCE $2,000... Best Buy Store Card $1,000...Discover IT for students $500

Yeah, wasn't trying to bum you out, but didn't want you to waste rebuilding time waiting on that when you could be moving forward! Barkley's Rewards MC in a good card , no AF, and fairly easy to get. Good cli's too, although a lil to early for me personally to confirm that .That's the second time I've pushed that card tonight Smiley Wink

Not bummed at all ! Thanks for the suggestion! I will be applying for an auto loan this summer through dcu and heard they often offer their CC along with the approved auto loan and it's usually a decent starting CL (2 -5k)

If this is the case, I'm sure that when the OP's scores are good enough, they then can contact EO and have another look at their account. Hopefully, they'll be able to PC the card and CLI it, then.

I am spending about 250-400 monthly on each card which is keeping my utilization relatively high (45%)

You can always pay prior to statement close to reduce reported utilization.  Keep it under 30%.

In my opinion, Barclay's Rewards card for average credit would be one of the better cards to get.  I have had it for 18 months and have gotten an automatic CLI every 6 months.

Cap One Quicksilver ($10,000); Barclays Rewards WMC ($7200); Lowes ($4050); Wal-mart ($3250); HSN ($1800); Amazon ($2300); Sportsmans Guide Visa ($1400); Target ($700); Victoria's Secret ($900)

Re: Quick question on a CLI

Ive look at the card and it isn't too bad especially if you're getting good CLI regularly, but the APR is very high (25%) and no intro promo rate. I will have to think about it as I definitely would get approved seeing the scores that are getting approved for that card but contemplating if I want a HP on my report. After reading some reviews I see about half of them are horror stories on barclays in general and other half are praises with auto CLI.....hmmmmmm.

Thanks for the fast reply! I have never requested an increase so your saying I am good to go to call for an increase on both? I am a little new to credit in general but have picked up vast amounts of info on this site in three days but what is the difference between a hard and a soft pull when it comes to inquires on my credit report? Down the road say 3-6 months, after I get my new auto loan any suggestions on a middle of the spectrum card with my income and score?

You just got the auto CLI 3 months ago, you cannot request another CLI with the luv button or regular CSRs for another 3 months (its 6 months between any auto or asked for CLI) with the following exception, a CLI can be requested through the EO at any time.

My Sony Visa went from 500 in 4/13, to 750 at 9/13, and 2250 at 2/14 (Under credit step or steps).

My Cap1 paltinum started 500 on 12/12, and went to 1500 on 5/13 and thats where its at now. I am going to get in touch with EO on 5/13/14, xactly yr from my last 1 and only auto cli. (this is credit step as well).

Approved for Barclay Reward on 12/13 for 1500, approching 6 months so I'm xpecting auto cli to 3000 Smiley Happy(According to what I read here on this forum).

Approved for Discover on 4/12/14, for 1600Smiley Happy

BK 7 discharged 6/1/12.
