Quick silver one ---> upgraded to quicksilver

So I've been with capital one for about a year now. Started with the secure platinum because I was rebuilding. Got a 300 limit now 11 months down the road it's only at 500 ;(

But 4 months ago I got the quicksilver one. Stared with 500 and last month got bumped to 3,000. I was doing some applications a few nights ago on cap 1s website and got denyed because I have "too many cards with cap1"

I called one of the customer service numbers here on the forums. He said because I had a secured card I couldn't qualify for a third cap 1 card.

He then transferred me to a upgrade specialist who looked at my quicksilver one card. Because I couldn't graduate or upgrade my secured platinum card she upgraded my quick silver one to just the regular quicksilver.

Pretty nice, no more annual fee and I'm hoping it will have more potential to grow. Gonna wait two months and see what the luv button will do!!!

Anyone have similar experience?

Re: Quick silver one ---> upgraded to quicksilver

Congrats! Many people have sucessfully upgraded their QS1 to QS. For me I was able to do it, it just took a lot longer than most of the sucess stories I hear these days! Cap1 does like to please people when they can on certain matters. Hey taking away an annual fee is something that is appreciated!

Re: Quick silver one ---> upgraded to quicksilver

Right now I just need to figure out what to do about my secured platinum card. 1 year and the limits at 500. Anyone know how to get it upgraded?!

It will never be upgraded and the credit limit won't go up any further. The only option is to close it and open another unsecured card. I had to do this exact same thing except my secured card was 2 years old and I closed it right before the annual fee posted.

It's unlikely that the secured card will be unsecured or upgraded, but it does happen. The credit limit may increase over time. Mine did, but I recently canceled it.

How long did you have your card when it upgraded and the limit increased? From my experience and what I have read it very rarely ever happens. Why did you cancel it?

Re: Quick silver one ---> upgraded to quicksilver

Side question guys!!!!!!

Like I said before I have two cap1 cards. A secured platinum and a quicksilver 1 that just got PC'd to just a quicksilver.

Reason why I got the PC was because I applied for a 3rd cap1 card and the result was I had "too many Captial one accounts" but I have only two....

Did my homework and you can only have two of the lower tier cards.....

So now that my QS1 is now just a QS do you think they will let me get a journey, platinum or another QS1

From my understanding the QS falls under a different category of card which would mean I have only one low tier card. Trying to open more positive trade lines and cap1 was the only company I got any luck with and decent credit limits.
