It's harder to steal a card number that isn't embossed. With a traditional card, a thief can simply put a piece of paper over the card and run his fingers over it. That's a lot less conspicuous than taking a photo or writing the number down.

What's the advantage of the WEMC QS over the others? From what I see, it looks like the benefits are exactly the same, which when compared to other banks, is not actually that great. Cap1 cards don't even offer purchase protection, which seems standard on most other cards from big banks, regardless of association brand.
Those of us with the Visa Signature versions prior to all of this, will we forever have the VS? I'm guessing theyre not converting all accounts to World elite Mastercart, just new accounts going forward?

Of course anything is possible, but I've never known Capital One to move somebody from one network to another, even if the cardholder requested it.
*One exception to this is when Capital One took over HSBC Discover and Amex accounts... those were eventually migrated.
I hope they don't convert the remaining VS holders out there. Right now, it's the only 1.5% Visa I have. If it's nerfed, I'll be forced to app for the Citi Costco CC.
I just got my brand new QS Visa card in the mail ( via a PC from a Platinum Visa ) Wasnt even a siggy. CL on PC was $1750
