Cap One defines excellent credit as follows, note no reference to scores:

I have had a loan or credit card for 3 years or more with a credit limit above $5,000

 

So looks like a pretty low threshold for "excellent"!  You can be 30 days late this year, and have many longer lates providing they are more than a year old.

well the approved me with ONE card at $5k for 2 months lol. and a 60 day late last year WITH cap1. the don't care they just issue credit lol
