Quite a few pre-approvals

Got an offer today from CreditOne!  "Your credit history shows that you are a perfect match for this offer. That's why we have pre-approved you for a Platnium Visa card with a starting credit line up to $2,500. Plus, this offer has no Enrollment Fee and no Over Limit Fees. Thst's just the beginning - earn even more credit. You understand the value of building a solid credit history and we'll reward your efforts with automaatic review of your account for credit line increases. We want you to earn all the credit you deserve." 19.9% APR. Annual Membership Fee $45.

The other day, I got an invite for the Visa Black Card. The lovely $495 card.

Then I got 3 Barclaycard Rewards MC offers in less than 3 weeks. The first two was within a week of each other both with 18 months 0% APR BT offers. The most recent offer pushed it up to 24 months 0% BT (I might take this offer)

So, I'm curious. It's been a while since I've gotten any credit card ofers, especially since my last spree.

Where does my credit stand? Why would CreditOne send me an offer?

My current scores are:

TU 779 - 2/26/14 - (Discover IT) | EX 761 - 02/08/14 - (FNBO) I'm at about 4.5% Utilization. TLs are in my signature, CLs range from 1.7K-20K.

What's with all the random offers? By random, I don't mean getting them, I think with my utilization decreasing so I'm becoming a better viable candidate. But, CreditOne? Huh? And then Black Card? and 3 Barclays Rewards?

Re: Quite a few pre-approvals

I sometimes get the credit one pre-approval and shread it. The others you are getting just means your credit is improving and not really suprising to me anyways. I get all of those also, and I think your right. My util has been going down. Smiley Happy

Evidnetly Credit One is on a mailing spree. My folks received one of these in the mail just today and asked me about it.  They were just approved last month for a Discover It after I referred them.

So needless to say I told them that at this point if they were approved with Discover, then they definitely shouldn't take the Credit One offer.  It was offering $1,500 credit line, 23.99% APR and $59 AF I believe is what it was.  But they certainly shouldn't need a card with an AF if they just got approved for Discover. I told them to let their new card age for another 6 months and then try for Chase Freedom.  My Dad just opened a Chase checking account with the $200 sign up bonus coupon of course.  So I thought that sounded like the next best step.

But all in all, I think Credit One will target anything that moves. Not saying that it's a bad card for someone rebuilding or just starting out, but they are pretty aggressive with their adverts. Smiley Happy

I realized I had crossed from sub-prime and back into prime when the Credit One offers stopped arriving.

Right now I'm getting inundated by Chase, and a few mailings from credit unions and FNBO.

I was going to garden... Honest!

Or did I just re-enter sub-prime?  Which was my initial thought when I first saw a CreditOne offer. What did I get into??
