RECON letter to USBANK

i applied for a CC through my bank (USBANK) on 4/17/08 and i was declined. the lady did it right on the computer and when it pulled my credit it showed 2 derogs that i was currently disputing. well those 2 derogs have been removed from my credit. so i was wondering if i should just in the bank and reapply or if i should write a RECON letter.

does USBANK just pull EX and anyone know the address i send a recon letter to. and i have no idea what a recon letter should look like so can some1 steer me in the right direction?

Re: RECON letter to USBANK

I would call the 800# and ask them if they can do recon over phone, faster than a letter!
otherwise, you probably have to wait 30-60 days and apply back in your branch or online.

Re: RECON letter to USBANK

so i called 800-usbanks and talked with their specialists and basically i had to reapply. The couldnt give me an instant answer cuz i just applied 2 weeks ago he says it me be that it looks like a duplicate application even though it not. so i can call in a few days to check up on the app. I hope i get approved because they pull experian and when they pulled it last time i was like a 560 with 2 derogs and now im a 629 with a clean report.

Re: RECON letter to USBANK

I'm thinking you need a higher FICO. If you are still at 80% utilization, you may be declined.

Re: RECON letter to USBANK

I would be surprised if there system didn't kick it automatically because of application within 30 days. If the system does that, they won't pull another credit.

Re: RECON letter to USBANK

A recon is different than applying for a 2nd time like you said you did.
A recon they look at the application they already have and do manual review.
A 2nd app goes into the computer again and goes by the standard rules they have set in the computer, and most companies don't allow multiple apps for same card within atleast 30 days.

Re: RECON letter to USBANK

Go to EX and print the latest credit report and mail to USB - must be the one from EX.com. If clean, mail to credit department with recon.

Re: RECON letter to USBANK

i told usbank that i wanted them to recon my application and they said they would have to pull credit again. it makes sense to me cuz if i lied and said oh now im i an 800 they arent just gonna believe me and give my a 25k card...so they obviously have to pull credit every time they recon an app.
