Rapid Reporting - Citi card

I just applied for a CITI hotel card for travel.  I applied Monday online, and got an email to call them.  I called and got the card (CL $15K).  The next day the card and CL and balance ($0) were reporting to the CRAs.  I don't have the card yet, so obviously I have not activated it or used it!

That is the fastest I have ever seen a card report  Smiley Very Happy

Why do you think they wanted you to call in?

What questions did they ask you?

Re: Rapid Reporting - Citi card

I found that interesting, and I really have no idea.  They asked me nothing that was not on the application.  I expected questions about recent inqs and accounts and I had answers ready (refinance, 6 months interest free for airconditioner replacement, getting hotel cards).

So really strange, but I am happy

Re: Rapid Reporting - Citi card

I have never before had a card report before I have actually received the card.

And never had to call after an application for no apparent reason that I can discern

Re: Rapid Reporting - Citi card

Nice limit

Congrats on the approval

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Rapid Reporting - Citi card

This one card and the inq had interesting effects on my CK scores  Smiley Very Happy

TU score - down 10

Vantage Score - up 17

Auto Insurance score - down 22

Home Insurance score - unchanged

Now I know it is only CK, but it clearly shows how different models respond very differently to a single event (add 1 cc and inq).  This was my only change in the last week
