I had a $78.04 balance on my Macy's account. I made a return and paid off the rest on the 18th. Well that's the day the statement closes, so instead of showing a zero balance it charged me interest 🙄 can I get this waived? This happened before not to long after I opened it.
Of course, it can be waived. Just call CS or chat and ask if the fee can be waived as a courtesy.
Something similar happened to me with Macy's. When they still had a separate line for "Special Events," I had paid the full amount of my regular revolving line. However, since I was near the end of the promo period for the Special Events line, they applied everything to that and then assessed interest on the remaining Revolving balance. I called, explained, and asked if the fee could be waived. It was resolved without issue.

Did you pay it after the previous due date? If so that's most likely the reason you are being charged interest.
Good luck...I was in the same boat and it took two phone calls and a couple emails to get it right. If it were me, I wouldn't both for $2. I did for mine because it was like $27.
They contacted me after I did a bad survey about my prior call. Goes to show that someone does read those.
