Regretting opening Amex Delta

Just when i thought Delta couldnt go any lower, they continue to surprise me and slap their customer in the face. With all the ng changes, i regret applying for the Delta gold. What should i do with it? Any suggestion? SD or cancel? Would Amex BL me if i cancel a card after 2 months?

Re: Regretting opening Amex Delta

Since it has an AF, then by all means cancel, no point in SDing it.  Amex won't care, and even if they do it's not worth $95 for them to "like" you.

No major changes were announced in the last 2 months to the Skymiles program, what is your issue w Delta?

Re: Regretting opening Amex Delta

I would personally keep it open for a year. AMEX may not care if you close it right away, but if you ever got UW by any other company and they saw it closed right after open they may have excuse to call you a churner and deny ya.

I'm going through the same situation with my JetBlue amex. Literally a week after I applied, they announced the split. It's SD'd and I will close it before AF hits.

Keep it for a year and then move the credit line unto another card.  Smarter that way..

Delta and JetBlue can both be Product Changed if you have had an Amex card for at least 1 year and the new one for 60 or 90 days I think it is.

just call and ask which options you have to PC... most likely SPG, or some form of the blue.

Took down award chart, restrict low level availability. And most recently, reduce partner's availability. I only app bc of 50k bonus+50$ statement, i think i have AF waive 1st year as well.

Not sure what this means. When I search for flights on app I clearly see miles needed and $$$ required.

Re: Regretting opening Amex Delta

Yes, they changed the layout. It used to be a grid where you had some specific sets of criteria then miles for those criteria flights. Then you had to interpret what flight fit in the grid where. I could never make sense of it.

With the new interface, you get a clear idea what each flight costs, can toggle between points and miles, even use some points, some cash.

OP I would just keep it open. The first year AF is waived, and even if you pay the AF and decide after that to cancel, you get a prorated refund. There are probably other AMEX you could PC to if you ask after a year.
