Just a few quick questions....
if you IIB Macy's, is it 4 yrs from the date of discharge before you can reapply?
What about Bloomingdales? I had an acct long ago and closed for non use apparently maybe 8 yrs ago, closed in good standing with a $0 bal. they obviously weren't IIB. Does the same policy go for them as well, since I IIB Macy's, they are same bank? Wait 4 yrs?
Also, does Macy's have that stupid "credit limit" thing still where they give you a limit but you still have to call in to see if they will approve your purchase?? That happened to me a few years ago when I had the card in good standing, went to make a purchase...declined. Huh? Had plenty of credit to cover it, so called in, and lady said that even though I had $800 available credit, they were only allowing $80 approved, WTH??
So not sure i want this card back if it still operates like this. Does bloomies operate like that as well?? I don't remember them doing that. Thanks for you thoughts!
When I was denied Macy's, I called the backdoor number and reconned. They informed me that I was denied for my old account being IIB, but since my BK was over 4 years ago, they could approve me for $600. In about 2 1/2 months, I got that up to $1200 and added a special events line for $2900.
I've never heard of the call-in thing. I'd imagine Bloomies would be similar, since they're the same issuer.
