Reopened Amex reporting backdated opening date!

Long story short, I opened a TrueEarnings card in January (after closing my old one in December and changing my mind a few days later) but then closed this new card in March. I had a change of heart and requested a reinstatement after I found out Amex was no longer backdating. Happy to say it reported as open today with the original backdated opening date of January 2004.

Good data point. Did you just call regular customer service or was there another line that you called to have them do this?

I'm wondering if it had already reported by the Mar. 21st deadline, and thus reopening it restored that open date and allowed for backdating.

Yes, it first reported at the end of February.
