I can't find one of my cards. I have the receipt from the last time I used it but it's not in my wallet. Have looked around the house today and will give one more through search tomorrow. I'll report it lost if I don't find it. Does something like this show up on credit reports? Maybe just an account number change?

No impact on credit reports. Internally the issuer will note it, but shouldn't matter. Better to report early than late IMO
Have you called the place where you used it last? I've accidentally left cards on the counter (or debit in the ATM) and gotten them back. Thankfully there are still more honest folks out there than dishonest ones.
I have a note on my reports for a closed card from years ago... "Card Lost or Stolen". I have no idea if it makes any difference and no one has ever commented on it when i was apping.

Really? Is there another account from the same lender which was opened after the "lost/stolen" incident? I have a store card which was changed by the store to a new type of the same store card, and I have two entries on my credit report. The first says "closed for product change" or some such.
I received a True Credit alert showing that I had reported a CC stolen. Zero effect on your FICO score.
Yup, I couldn't find my Sam's card a couple of weeks ago and reported it lost. Within 48 hours I had a SW alert for lost/closed card and it shows up on my report.
I've looked everywhere over the weekend. Throughly cleaned the house, looked in my car, under the seats, checked my pant's and jacket pockets. Nothing! I also called the store. You know I'll find it after I report it lost.
I signed into my account to see if I can take care of this online. It shows two options.
One is to request a replacement card. There is a slim chance that I dropped the card. I still think it's around the house somewhere but maybe not.
The other is - The following actions will occur when you report your card lost or stolen:
• This account will be closed, and all credit cards on this account will be closed to further purchases
• A new account will be opened, and a new credit card(s) will be mailed to your address
• These actions cannot be reversed once you select the Yes button below
Would you like to proceed with reporting your card lost or stolen?
Hum...
I lost my entire wallet a few months back.... six credit cards, my Visa debit, numerous loyalty cards and gift cards, and of course cash, driver license, etc... It sucked. A few cards showed lost or stolen on reports but all new cards/accounts showed account opening date from original account, so no affect on scores.
Good luck!
