Request Credit line increase?

I just got my new capital one platinum card, and was planning on doing a balance transfer from my 16.99% chase card to this 6.49% card (about $1000), but when I got the card they only gave me a credit limit of 2000. Just checked my score on equifax (788, and **bleep** am I surprised) think i could and should i go for a credit line increase on this new card?

You can always try. Each time I've requested a cli from Cap1, I've been told: we issue cli's periodically and investigate internally. We do not accept cli increases from customers.

You've got very good FICO scores, so your situation may be different. Call and ask to speak to an acct. specialist. Good luck! And let us know the outcome.

Cap1 may give you a CLI but they will give you the speal about being a traditionally conservative leander. Another thing about Cap1 is that they pull all three bureaus for decisioning. If they started you off with 2k you did good....lol!!!

I would ask, it did work for me when I first opened my account.
