Anybody know whiich stores/retail cards approve for credit rebuilding?
I just opened a walmart, old navy and amazon and I am in the rebuilding phase. I did them online.
Hi mistakes,
What revolving accounts do you currently have open? How old are they?
I'm a fan of GE cards - and there's a ton to choose from. Walmart is one, and they offer a TU FICO score updated monthly - which is a super perk. JCPenney is good. Dillards is probably their easiest approval as far as FICO scores go - but only useful if you shop at Dillards (super duper sales and clearances there). Folks will chime in with a lot of others, as well.
Don't overdo the merchant cards - pick one that will be useful to you. You don't need one for FICO scoring purposes, so if you decide to open a merchant card choose from those merchants where you shop and where the card has benefits (i.e. discounts - like Target; or sales or coupons i.e. Kohl's or Macy's).
I have the following merchant cards:
Macys - great deals especially around the holidays
Pac Sun - I buy all the kids clothes there so the extra savings certificates are nice
New York & Company - I buy a lot of my work clothes there (minus jeans)
Victoria's Secret - for obvious reasons
Zales - it's the hubby's card because he loves me hahahaha
BestBuy - hubby's card as well, the 0% APR is always nice on large purchases
from my experience, WFNNB is pretty easy on approval as well (but they are INQ sensitive). You can do a search to find out what cards are backed by them.
The only other store cards I intend on applying for eventually are Walmart & Target. I frequent both stores so they would benefit me to have them (especially the TU Fico from Walmart)
Hope this helps!

If you have a good/no relationship with GECRB, I think your scores could get you in with JCP, Old Navy, Walmart
even if you're not going to use it, just to free up some util, i'd apply for the carecredit GEMB card. i believe the minimum they'd give is $1000 and i was approved for it when my score was only 580.
I am screaming and jumping up and down right now..... I just got approved for following
Old Navy - $200
Banana Republic - $300
Gap- $250
Hallelujah!!!! I am coming out of the land of the dead.
Thank you Jesus!!!!

Agreed with OP....Walmart is the easiest card to get and you get a free fico score from them too! That's a nice bonus if you are looking for a store/retail card. GL.
