Hi all. I recently got a new credit card amd I am trying to responsibly put as many of my bills as I can on there in hopes of earning the introductory bonus points offer. Unfortunately, major bills like house note, car note etc...would have to be run as cash advances which don't count and would be wastefuol anyway. However I am in a situation where I need a lawyer and he accepts credit cards via square. Will I get points for that transcation or do CC companies have issue wiht Square?? Thanks

There shouldnt be any type of an issue with Square.
Also, you can use Plastiq to pay your mortgage, car loan, etc..... It does cost 2.5% - but you WILL earn rewards on your CC and it WILL count as regular spend
Thank you both for your replies and the Plastiq tip!!

Square will count as a purchase, but how it codes is a matter decided by the vendor. One time, I stayed at a small 10 room resort and used my Sam's Club, believing I'd get 3% travel. Unfortunately, the owner had coded their hotel as "Tourist Attractions and Exhibits". However, that wasn't Square's fault, but the owner for choosing the code he did. So I got the standard 1% cash back.
I'm guessing your lawyer will code as "Legal Services and Attorneys", unless he's also a tourist attraction.

With a bit of luck (and depending on OP's cards) he will code as Groceries. Don't know of cards that have Legal Services as a bonus category anyway..
I used my Amex PRG with Square Cash to send money to a relative and it shows as "Services".
