Rewarded for not leaving the garden

So I arrived home today to find my first ever Citi advertisement for a 50k points/$3k spending AA card offer. It was tempting but I knew my credit report was still healing from my new accounts in July/Aug. To satiate my thirst I tried for a CLI on Discover, knowing they are good with soft CLIs and will inform if a HP is needed. I tried the automated line and got forwarded to a rep as they "needed more info". I was asked for my reasoning for the CLI and received a $1k increase (so $1k->$2k) with no HP. Told her that was plenty and went on my merry way. This was on top of a $200 soft CLI that I got at my 1 year mark a month and a half ago.

WTG keep up the good work

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Good for you! Congrats on resisting the impulse to app when the time wasn't right for you, and getting soft CLIs instead. Way to go!

It really did! Too bad the offer expires right before I could first consider sneaking out of the garden (mid January, for max backdating for a hopeful Amex BCP). I would consider taking them up on it otherwise.
