I have tons of miles/points saved up.  I keep a spreadsheet using the value for the miles/points that the Points Guy assigns each month.  That is the low end of value for me because I know that almost always I can book flights/hotels and get much better redemption rates than the TPG assessment. Just using his values though, I have about $38K in travel rewards saved up.  That's after I used up quite a bit for a trip for two flying first class to Australia and back, staying at the Hyatt in Sydney and quite a few round trip first class trips to Vegas.  Not trying to brag but providing that info to show that it's possible using travel credit cards to enjoy some very nice trips.  Of course, it is all dependent on your spending habits and credit card usage.  High end travel cards aren't for everyone (too many people here get them and really shouldn't) but can be well worth the high annual fees they charge.

Wow Irish that's mind blowing. I thought I was doing pretty good with my little hoard of miles. I've paid for two two week trips down to OBX with sign up bonus and Discover cashback and we just got back from 5 nights at Disney and have done a couple of other trips but I barely seem to put a dent in my miles/points
