Ritz Carlton card no longer metal?

A few months ago I got approved for the ritz carlton card and at hte time of the application ordered an extra one for an AU, well both my card and my wife's were the heavy black metal cards that we all know and love The weird thing is that they actually sent out 2 cards for me and 2 cards for my wife for a total of 4 metal cards.... odd but I will take em!!

Last week I requested to add another AU, this is for my grandpa to be used on a vacation coming up soon, Today I received the card in the normal packaging, but the card is NOT meta, it's a regular black plastic credit card..... Is this because it's an AU? Doesn't make sense because's my wife's is metal.... or are they abandoning the metal cards?

Received my ritz card this week and it was metal. Card was DOA though.

same happened to me. long story short, i spoke with chase csr, and they said they ran out of the metal to produce the cards. they will send out new (metal) ones in late march early april
