I know the Marriott card is black metal too; is there that big a difference in weight between the two cards?
From this thread: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/Credit-Card-weights/td-p/2881505
Marriott (and CSP): 12 grams
RC (and Palladium): 27 grams
I just weighed my RC and got 28 grams, but I hate my scale. And for kicks, I weighed a handful of 'regular' cards and they're 5 each.
(This may be a new low in 'things I've done to avoid doing what I should be doing.')

This dies out as server error for a couple days now.

I just got a little score bump and have some stays booked and it's as good of time as any to grab the card. I don't see the 140k coming around so may as well grab a couple nights.
AFAIK, the $4K spend/2 C-nights offer is the only one I've seen.
Thanks Fin. I have 6k reporting this month (fixing up the house a bit) and will take 2 months to pay it off. The 3k offer would have been nice, lol
No worries elim. There was a recent $3K offer via this link >https://www.theritzcarltonrewardscard.com/2cn?CELL=6SBS but when you click apply it yields "Offer Unavailable"
The home page https://www.theritzcarltonrewardscard.com/2CN/ is saying $3000 spend in the first 3 months for me...... Not sure what everyone else is seeing.....

Oh I see now. I bet you can call Ritz and get the offer still. Might just be a problem with the site.

There is no issue with the site, the offer is no longer available. It appears that the host to the previous splash offer hasn't been removed or updated, hence the redirected page. While in some case it is feasible, honoring the $3K offer will be a YEMV.
The problem with this thread is that you have people from all different backgrounds and personal situations chiming in on their opinions of paying 395 a year for this card, which I think is a great deal by the way. The value of $400 is also different for everyone, so if anyone wants to pay to have a cool card, there shouldn't be anything wrong with that.

As long as you're not spending MY money on the AF, get whatever makes you happy. I keep the card for benefits. If someone thinks it's cool and wants to pay $395 for a metal card, go crazy.
After the first year what are the benefits to this card? Are you making the10k spend on it to get gold status? I mention this because Marriott just upped a bunch of properties another cat level so it will cost more points now tom redeem stays. I guess there is kounge access but I prefer the prestige for that. Are you making paid stays at the Ritz? I'm just curious the main sellling point for you beyond the first year.
