Re: SEARS CITI CC to offer monthly credit score

The Equifax/Beacon 5.0 score is the same as what you would pull here.

I can't tell from the shorthand whether the TransUnion score is the 98 version (offered here) of the 04 version (being used by many lenders).

The Experian score presumably refers to the Experian Fair Isaac Version 2 score.

If it makes any sence to you pro's my report specifically said:

Beacon 5.0 Score / EFX01

Classic Score / TRU01

Fair IsaacScore 2 / XPN01

These are the names of the versions of FICO scores that the three credit bureaus use: Beacon 5.0 (Equifax), Classic Score, sometimes called Empirica (TransUnion), and Fair Isaac Risk Version 2 (Experian.)

Anyone visiting credit unions (or friendly local banks) that pull Equifax can pull a new FICO EQ report, print it out, show it to the loan officer, and tell them it's a Beacon 5.0. "myFICO score report" won't mean anything to them.

And unfortunately, at some point, credit forums invented new abbreviations for the credit bureaus, and people get tangled up all the time:

EFX = EQ = Equifax
TRU = TU = TransUnion
XPN = EX = Experian

The EFX/ EX thing gets people seriously confused. Two different bureaus with very similar abbreviations.
* Credit is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master. * Who's the boss --you or your credit?
FICO's: EQ 781 - TU 793 - EX 779 (from PSECU) - Done credit hunting; having fun with credit gardening. - EQ 590 on 5/14/2007
