Safe to assume that activity after 5pm on statement date will be on next statement?

Well, Citi lowered the available limit another $300 since my last payment posted, so, I'm getting ready to just get it over with and balance transfer the remaining $198 onto another card so they can just close the dumb thing. This card that I'm transfering onto only has a $300 credit limit. It's at $0 right now and statement date is today. Safe to assume that after 5pm activity will be posted on the next statement instead of todays statement?

Just running out of time to do another balance transfer before stupid Sears/Citi posts crazy utilization, but, don't want another card reporting bad utilization too.. lol

I've seen cards have cutoff times as late as 7PM, but for the most part, yes, after 5 should be OK.

You're going to balance transfer <$200?  Why not just keep paying it until it's gone?  Are you trying to apply for something in the next couple months?

You might want to call them just to be sure. The liklihood is that it wouldn't post until at least tomorrow, but sometimes CCs do strange things, as we all know!

Sorry to hear about Citi/Sears! I had a Citi card back in the 80s and am probably blacklisted with them. But I've read enough negatives about them that I don't even want to try to get one again.

I hate doing it. But, utilization on that card was at 50% when my husband applied for a mortgage but now they've been balance chasing us. His mortgage is in underwriting right now expected to close at the end of this month. Can't afford the risk of having them pull his credit again and having utilization on this card at 95%. We already have paid over a grand on this card in the last month, can't really afford to throw any more cash at this problem and then not have enough to close on the house.
