Sallie Mae MC

Looks like a good card issued by Barclays. (likely a TU pull)

5% CB up to the first $250 on gas/groceries.

Any feedback on users of this card; pros and cons?

Re: Sallie Mae MC

It's 5% for bookstores too, if I'm not wrong. People have reported getting 5% for amazon purchases as well.

Re: Sallie Mae MC

Too bad the limit for the gas/groceries is not like $500. I spend more than $250/month on gas.

Currently using my BOA 123 as primary card. But if there are enough advantages, I'd consider the SM MC.

Re: Sallie Mae MC

There's a citi TY offer for 5% gas, groceries and drug store. The app has to be done in a branch in person however.

Re: Sallie Mae MC

I have this card. Its an excellent card IMO. The rewards make it my primary gas, groceries, and Amazon card.

5% up to $250/month on gas. Works for me since I spend about $75-120/month on gas.

5% up to $250/month on groceries. Again, works perfectly for my grocery budget. And I always have BCE to fall back on at 3%.

5% up to $750/month on bookstores, including Amazon. Excellent! I'm a big Amazon shopper so this is great.

And the best part IMO, is that the cash back points are earned immediately after a purchase clears instead of all at once as the statement closes like most cash back cards.

Re: Sallie Mae MC

I WANT this card... but getting a 2nd Barclay Card seems a little bit like getting a Citi Recon! AND.... IF you don't get the Signature what do the rewards drop down to?

Re: Sallie Mae MC

The rewards stay the same.

The only difference would be the MasterCard world benefits vs platinum benefits.
