Sallie Mae Statement 4%

Okay, I admit that I may be late to the party, but I am on here everyday. I know there have been some questions about SM lately, but have they changed to 4% per bonus category? I do not recall seeing this, and I try to monitor it, because DH has one. I was just looking over his last statement, and it looks like the bonus categories are all 4%. If I have missed something, please advise. A quick search did not show that it was a new thing. I would be fine with it, because I have Amazon covered, but I was surprised.

Re: Sallie Mae Statement 4%

Here is my last months SM MC statement. It looks they include 1% back in base rewards and they lay it out as 4%  back on the categories. So you have to think of it as 4% extra and 1% general back = 5%

Re: Sallie Mae Statement 4%

Mine post the rewards with the purchase. They are still at 5%. They list as 1% + 4% for terms and statement purposes. If you check the online activity for the statement period, should show 5% reward on proper categories. The reward amount should match the statement.

Re: Sallie Mae Statement 4%

I am just losing it. I was just looking at it and lost my mind. Mine shows the same. I don't always go over the statements, usually just pay the bill, because I know exactly what it should be. My bad. Sorry for the alarm.

Re: Sallie Mae Statement 4%

I actually had never noticed it like that on the statement before OP. So no worries, sometimes I read things wrong and then I'm like doh!

Your rewards aren't going anywhere.  I don't understand why people are so impatient to see this card nerfed.

I don't think anyone was talking about it being nerfed actually, they were just misinterpreting the statement's rewards breakdown (which is 4% + 1% = 5%, not just straight 5%). If it were being nerfed I highly doubt they would simply take away 1% in rewards.
