During my app spree (I am 4 days into tending to my graden), I applied for a Sallie Mae Visa Signature Card. I forgot about that one and realizing I never received a letter, I called them today. I was approved for $2500.00, very low interest rate; will most definitely be my lowest rate.
However, I am kind of mixed about them. It was very hard to find their application landing page. The card is no longer advertised on the Sallie Mae website. It leads to believe that this card is about to be sold or discontinued. If so, it won't hurt my overall utilization. I have some pretty prime cards that I can grow with already, so no biggie.
So, although the card seems like an amazing deal and opportunity; I think the fun will be short lived.
I am still waiting to hear from Nationwide Visa. If I am approved for them, that will be my last card for the next two years. Maybe the rest of my life. It's hard to believe that only a few short months ago, I was very skeptical about CCs. Now I have almost 11 of them!

I just found a news article saying Salie Mae's CCs have been picked up by Barclays. I could not read the full article without purchasing a subscription. Can anyone confirm this? If true, should I be happy to have a Barclays in my wallet?

Barclay's is good. I would be happy to have them over having it sold to FIA.

Sallie Mae's credit card division belonged to FIA/BofA before Barclay's bought them out. Quite confusing!
