My DW uses the card for Target/Walmart, she doesn't go often.
Gas/Amazon only when Discover/Freedom don't have them.
It will be a sad day when they change the terms.
EDIT: Thanks to the forum I learned about the card and DW was able to get it.

Cashback cap sucks
The $750 per month on "bookstores" is pretty good, higher than the $2K per quarter on Cash +, and higher than the $1,500 per quarter for Freedom/Discover, when they have it

what is the next best card for them?
I saw lots of postings about it no longer being offered for new apps but what about the NEXT
best cards.. especially for amazon., gas, groceries..(cig..lotto...beer..)
For what levels of spend in these categories? Single guys don't all have identical income and spend. Is noncategory spend signficant?

No.
mostly Amazon, Beer, Cigs, Gas, Groceries walmart 7 11 target piza..
Oh, Sallie. How I love thee.
I would probably go to Amazon store card, Citi Costco for gas, and probably BCE for grocery.
The real loss for me would be Walmart/Meijer B&M locations. All of my local ones are coded as such that I get 5% sallie for general merchandise spend at those stores and it's awesome.
