I've generally been a "cheapest ticket" traveler. I think of the Schwab card as a way to try out the Platinum perks and travel a little more comfortably for a reduced AF. Keep in mind that it's a separate card from the proprietary Platinum, so my getting 40k MRs for Schwab won't prevent me from getting a signup bonus (maybe 100k MRs) if/when I go for the proprietary Platinum in the future.
I like Fidelity and Schwab more than other brokerage websites. They aren’t great for day trading, but I don’t do that. I trade very rarely, and a lot of what I buy is commission-free.
Brokerage churning is pretty nice…decent bonuses, no new accounts, and very few inquiries. No minimum spend to track, either. I don't like the websites of TD Ameritrade, Scottrade, or e*trade as much, but I'll take their money.
