From what I've read RE: Amex, I think they don't put as much weight on your scores as other lenders. I think instead they look for a combination of income/usage/history. My score has been dragged down mostly by AAOA at this point due to a few recent cards I've opened. But my income is decent, I usually PIF, and don't have any missed payments in my recent history.
