Sea Miles Mastercard Approval!!!!!

I swore I wasn't going to apply for any new cards this year, but had such a good time on my Carnival cruise that I applied on the boat for the extra points. They initially declined me, but I called the back door number and the Credit Analyst approved me instantly after reviewing my report, no begging or justifying needed.

The reason for decline was having a cc near it's limit (don't have one of those), too short of a credit history (18 years?), and too many Inquiries (2 from 11 months ago). It made no sense to me so I figured what the hell and called up and got it!!!! I wonder whose report they were looking at the first time around.

Current:
TU (5/14/14): 796 (Inquiries; 8/23/13)
EQ (3/23/14): 791 (Inquiries: 8/23/13)
EX (9/24/13): 780 (Inquiries: 7/2/12; 11/20/12; 7/30/13; 8/23/13)

Goals: No new inquiries for 2014, 800 for all CRs by 12/31/14

Applied on 6-25-09 for the Carnival Sea Miles MasterCard and was approved on 6-26-09 with a credit limit of $2,500 after Credit Analyst called to inquire about 13 inquiries from credit spree (waited until EQ inquiries reached 1 year mark before applying). They pulled TR (Georgia) and current scores are 665 EQ, 709 TR and Truecredit EX 737. Have 1 PIF medical collection from 2006 and Tax Lien from 2001 (satisfied 2002) that doesn't show on EQ and have already fallen off of EX, TR won't remove until October 2009.

Congratulations! Carnival Cruises are the best! By any chance do you have the backboor # handy? My wife applied for one about three days ago and they said they will make a decision and let us know. We just want to be able to call them if they deny her and try to re-consider. Thank you and again, congrats!

While FICO doesn't score those inquiries after a year they still matter. This is what gets me about people who think it's not a big deal when companies pull hard for insurance phone checking accounts water delivery the whole nine yards. Congrats on the card.
