All of the above discussion applies only to credit cards.  It doesn't matter if your Amex credit card is issued by Amex or by some other bank.  It will still be counted as a major bank card on your CRs.
 
Amex charge cards are a different animal entirely.  They are treated as "open" accounts rather than revolving (when they report correctly, anyway).
