i just looked and this is what there gonna charge me as well. i guess the only way you can get them for free is being a victim of identitiy theft

Correct, plus the fee is determined by which state you live in. In my case, OH, where the fee is $5.00...

I too have done this while on deployment in the past! It's $10. in California to freeze it and to unfreeze it. I think every state is diffrent I hear the some states it's free!!
