Just closed one of my 2 capital one accounts. This one is my oldest, but carries the 3 dollar monthly fee. They wouldn't waive it so bye bye. Kept my 750 limit one for now. Instead of shredding it I have created a framed collage of my discharge paper form 2006, various collection letters (all paid), pic of our old crappy rental, our clear to close letter, and this card. It has been a long road that I hope to never travel again!!!

Congratulations on moving forward! I know that rebuilding can be tough, but time coupled with good credit behavior heals the wounds. Good for you, and best wishes on your continuing credit journey.

I did call the exec office on my second account. Very nice man. Actually nicer than Barclay's and that's saying something! We shall see about the outcome!

Fingers crossed!!!
Almost everyone has had success with them, it may start to wear off here soon with the amount of calls they're getting.

the call was very interesting. he did share some info but who knows if you can believe it. he stated thta they have been in the process of revamping their credit increase system, and that front line csr's and the system will not give a cli no matter who you are. this new system will be ready soon whatever that means. i feel after buying hsbc they are going to get in the game of serving the middle of the road consumer, but they just dont know how to do it yet. I can only imagine how long it would take to build a system. i look for big changes at cap 1 soon. he admitted they have a flawed system and are looking to retain customers after the rebuilding process. this can only be a win win for consumers. I actually like their product.............but we shall see!!
