Would I qualify for a Chase Freedom or anything? Scores are listed below. The only other baddie listed is two 90 day lates on Sallie Mae, 2007 and 2008.
Any ideas, or am I just s.o.l til the bk is gone? Got a costco card and they pushed and pushed me to apply for the AMEX but I knew it would be a waste due to the BK.

Chase even starts their applications with:
"Before continuing to fill out your application, please confirm both of the following statements:
My credit history is currently clear of seriously delinquent accounts & charge offs."
So I would never waste an inq on Chase.

I agree, wait until the BK comes off before trying Chase.

My chp 7 was discharged in 2008 and i was approved for freedom 2 months ago. Only received 1k and that was after pleading with executive office x2 for a chance. YMMV, but I am proof anything can happen. When I think about loosing my job, home etc in 2007 I never thought we would make a comeback. Would still be renting and dreaming about credit cards if not for the information and encouragement from this site!!

I have gotten 4 Citi cards this year with a Chapter 7 BK in Aug 2004. No baddies since though. Amex and Macy's are NO while the BK is on your record so dont waste your time. Scores around 720

yes the key is to never get discouraged... I too lost my job for 15 months back in 2005 and lost my house to FC. Our credit took a dive... But I moved to Texas and have been working ever since and my credit is now in the low 700s and I was able to buy another home 3 years after the FC... It can be done...
