Sharing my journey of hope and patience...

Hello well I started reading this forum in 2010-2011. I had bad credit and was living my life through pay day loans, getting more in debt. I had burned a lot of creditors when I was in college . I decided to clean up my reports and pay off the pay day loans. Applied for credit one and first premier. Kept those for 2 years and in the midst of those cards I opened a cap1 secured. Fast forward to on time payments and building history I was approved for walmart, and a few other GE cards. I kept building and waiting and paying on time keeping a Spreadsheet to keep me organized of all my financial obligations. gE kept raising my limits so I applied for a discover more, approved for 1,000$. I closed my fp and credit 1. Applied for cap 1 rewards card and approved. I kept the game going asking for CLis, reading these boards, making on time multiple payments..... Fast forward GE upgraded my Wally, SAMs, gap, aero and jt max to , visa, MasterCard and Discover versions. I closed my cap1 and started closing my store cards. Today I now have Amex green, delta gold, Wells Fargo rewards visa, us airways MasterCard, Barclays rewards MasterCard , along with my GE cards. Just to let everyone know, THank you!!!!!! I am on these boards daily and everyone here I owe a great deal of thank yous......

Congrats on all your accomplishments. You have definitely come a long way. Sometimes I believe patience is the most difficult part of this credit journey.

Re: Sharing my journey of hope and patience...

Thank you!!! Patience is the worst part... But I started in the low 500 fico maybe 400 now I am 5 points away from 700 although a lot of CC companies use their own scoring model , so it's not just a number anymore. But again I have only one more card on my to do list which is the chase united card. And this is because I travel every week for work .... So excited to open my wallet And see how it has changed. Here is a thought .... We should take before and after pictures of our wallets... Like a body makeover show !!!!

Re: Sharing my journey of hope and patience...

I don't envy anybody who has to climb their way out of payday loans. Ordinary credit card debt, auto loans, and mortgages are bad enough, but I swear if I had to face those payday loans whose interest rates are so high the amounts due seem so often to grow faster than any broke person could actually pay them, I don't know what I'd do. I admire your achievement, OP.
