Re: Should I Apply For Capital One QuickSilver?

Thanks again for all the input.  I went ahead and applied, and was approved with a $3,000 credit limit!  APR is 20.9% after the intro limit, but I doesn't matter because I never carry a balance anyways.  I'm going to ask GE for a CLI as creditaddict suggested and then cool it with the applications.

Sallie Mae BarclayCard - $3000 (6 Months) | Chase Freedom - $3500 (6 Months)
Capital One Quicksilver - $6000 (9 Months) | Bank of America Better Balance - $5000 (9 Months)
Rooms to Go GECapital - $6600 (9 Months) | Discover IT - $4300 (2+ Years)
Subprime Accounts: 1FBUSA - $5500 (4+ Years) | Capital One Platinum MC - $1250 (4+ Years)

Awesome!  Congrats!

Definitely worth the app, especially with a $100 sign-up to boot.

Re: Should I Apply For Capital One QuickSilver?

Last question (for now anyways):

How much should I expect these three recent inquiries to impact my credit score?  Is it going to set off any warning flags to my current credit card companies, and how long will it take for my score to recover?

3 inquiries (1 on each bureau) for your Cap1 card isn't going to affect your credit score much. You probably will see a 5-15 point drop, and that should be it. Your credit score might also get a ding from a brand new account being reported, which lowers your AAoA. Generally your score should bounce back within 3 - 12 months. The timing can vary for individuals. People with thicker files might not even see a noticeable ding to start with, and recover in no time, while people with thinner files might take a little longer to recover.

3 inquiries on the same bureau (including your BofA and furniture card) isn't going to set off any warning flags. It usually takes a lot more inquiries than that. Just do not drag high balances on multiple cards for extended periods of time and you shouldn't run into any kind of problems at all.

I'm quite interested in this card as well, but 3 inquiries for 1 CapOne card just seems too harsh Smiley Sad

Re: Should I Apply For Capital One QuickSilver?

Thanks!  Was a bit concerned with the AAoA since I have doubled my total number of cards, that it will cut my AAoA in half.

Guess this means off to the garden!  Should be very much okay with the cards I have now.

Re: Should I Apply For Capital One QuickSilver?

OP congrats on the approval.

I will mimic what others have said.  Outside of bonus cashback this is a fantastic card to clean up.  Outside of the Priceline Visa and the FIA Amex this card is now back in my wallet (after the PC <3 EO @ Cap 1) 1.5% on all transactions and no forex.  This is a prime card IMO.

Capital One Quicksilver- $5,400 | Chase Freedom - $8,000 | Chase Freedom Unlimited- $13,000 | Chase Amazon -$5,000 | Priceline Visa -$10,000 | US Bank Cash+ - $18,200 | Fidelity Visa -$10,000 | Sallie Mae- $10,000  | DCU Platinum $12,000 | Discover IT - $10,000 | Amex EveryDay - $25,000  | Amex BlueCash Everyday- $9,800 | Citi DoubleCash - $18,000 | Sapphire Preferred- $13,000 Freedom Unlimited$7,000 Blispay$12,000 | Chase Sapphire Reserve- $18,000 | Consumers Credit Union Visa Sig Cash Rebate$25,000

Re: Should I Apply For Capital One QuickSilver?

I agree with enharu- 3 pulls has always been the main reason Cap 1 is not in my wallet.
