Should I be worried about too much new credit?

I just found out that my AMEX BCP was approved for $7K!! Being now my highest CL for a credit card.

This is a result of my last app spree:

Discover IT - $4K

Barclaycard Arrival - $3.5K

Apple Barclaycard auto CLI from $2K to $3.2K

Capital One Platinum requested CLI from $500 to $1K

Chase Freedom auto CLI from $1K to $1.2K

Citi Diamond Preferred - $3K

Chase Amazon Rewards - $2K

Amazon Store Card - $400

Now, my total credit available is aprox. $31K!!!

Should I be worried about anyone trying to close my account for this?

Re: Should I be worried about too much new credit?

I opened a lot more and received much higher increases and had no words from anyone about too much new credit. As long as you don't utilise all of it, you should be fine.

Just make sure you dont start dragging high balances on multiple cards for an extended period of time, and you should be fine.

I will only use Discover and Citi to take advantage over the 0% APR, not more than $3,000. Shoud I be ok?

Re: Should I be worried about too much new credit?

Barclays is a YMMV. If OP is managing his cc's correctly, Barclays should not be a problem.

The only one who might give you some flack is Barclays.

When I did my app spree I opened 12 new accounts + a car loan within a 30 day span on top of the 10+ CC accounts I already had & Barclays closed my Ring account due to too many new accounts (Only had it for about one month, Smiley Very Happy). They kept my Apple account open though. CapitalOne also closed my BestBuy store card & decreased my $5,000 limit on one card to $1,800 due to too many new accounts. But they didn't do anything with my other $5,000 CapitalOne CC.

So this is totally a YMMV type of thing. Let us know if anything happens!
