I mean, with the U.S. Bank Cash Plus I get 5% back on all types of restaurants whereas the Sapphire only gives 2x points on dining, and I don't really travel. Other than the cool look of the card, is there any reason to get it?

No, don't get it.

If you don't travel there are better values out there. Also are you talking about the normal sapphire or Sapphire Preferred?

Sounds like you don't need this card. Unless you just want it cause its metal. 😏
Only the CSP is metal. The normal Sapphire card isn't.
The CSP is designed for frequent travelers come high spenders. If you don't even travel, don't bother.
Except for the churn. If you can spend 3K in the first three months, you get the 40K points, which at a minimum, if you don't travel, is worth $400, and there is no AF. Before the fee comes due, switch to a no-fee card. So this is $400 free (providing you meet the spend and don't need the HP for something else)
