Re: Should I hit the Chase Luv Button even though I just got the Card. I am tempted y'all!!

almost 2 and a half years, I never thought about applying for a second card until last week. I was tired of not getting CLIs on my first card but all I was doing was applying online and now I have learned to just call back door numbers Smiley Wink

You mean to tell me that you had a Chase card for over 2 years with a 200 dollar limit and they would not give you an CLI??  That is crazy.  I know that you had to maintain the account in good standing or they would have not issued you a second card.
I would really like to purchase a new Millineum Falcon with my WAMU (oops Chase card)!!!! But first I need a decent credit limit.

Yeah thats what I brought up when I called about the new card, I asked about my other card and why I cant get anything done with it. Apparently the Platinum Master Card is one of those types of cards that is capped and I was told that it is really hard to get a CLI on but all of their other cards are very rewarding and gracious with CLIs according to the specialist I was working with. I can't complain too much tho because it was my second card ever and it got my foot in the door with chase and now look where I'm at Smiley Very Happy

Hmm. To OP, I highly recommend waiting 3 months or so since you were denied on the phone. Online will probably just be a waste of an inquiry.

Chase has been very good to me. When the analyst called me when I was first approved she tried to offer $7000 and I was able to talk her up to $10,000 on the phone. 3 weeks later I CLI'd to $15,000. Recently I decided to apply for the Chase PerfectCard, with a CL of $3500. The APR was 19.99 and they wouldn't lower it, so I combined it into my Freedom Visa for a grand total of $18,500.

Last January I couldn't get more than $300 from HSBC and $500 from Capital One. Now, I pick and choose!

Yeah when I call to activate my new card, I'm going to ask for a CLI on my oldest card before I bring up anything about combining them, I'm hoping they will match my new card but I don't know what will happen. If they do approve a CLI on my older card, then I will ask about the newer card and hopefully get a little luv. I have a flawless history with chase so you would think they would be more willing to show me some luv.

I think that I asked for too much of an increase when I was on the phone with CSR.  I asked for a 1500 dollar increase.  I should have asked for less and I probably would have gotten something.  I was being greedy and I should be grateful.  This credit game is humbling.

I did it anyway guys.  I hit the love button.  They will let me know something in a few hours.  I asked for a 1000 dollar limit.  Yeah, I know.
