Should I try my luck?

I am thinking about trying my luck for the chase freedom card, but I keep telling my self I would probably get denied. So what do everybody think.

TU: 680 last pulled 9/27

EQ: 677 last pulled 9/26

Don't know the last one.

I have 6 iq's soon to be 7 because I asked capital 1 for a cli.

And only 5k in student loans.

I have a discover it card, and a quicksilver card. If I get this one I will garden for awhile.

So what do everybody think my chance's are? Am I just being silly?

If it won't for myfico my only card would be my debt it card.

Re: Should I try my luck?

How long have you had Discover and Quicksilver?  Utilization?  Have you tried the Chase prequalifier?

Re: Should I try my luck?

I had both for a  couple months now around 6 months I think. Utilizatizon have not went above 50% yet. And I have not tried that yet. Can I do it from my iphone?

What is your current UTL and all your cards are about 6 months old?

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Should I try my luck?

My discover is around 21% just came back from a mini vaca, my quicksilver is around 11%. I had my quicksilver a month before my discover card. And my AAoA is 8 months.

Re: Should I try my luck?

First, Cap 1 CLI's are SP's. And I understand correctly you have two cc's reporting and one with a 21% util.

Do you bank with Chase?

Check the pre-qual website and see if you have any offers.

A 21% util reporting on a new account and on a thin file may not look favorable to Chase. If you've had Discover for 3 mos, I would see if you are eligible for a sp CLI.

If so, let that report and check the pre-qual set again.

The longer the history the better your odds are for approval and with better terms.

Re: Should I try my luck?

Well that's great news for the cap 1 card.

But I do not bank with chase because the closes one is an hour away.

I just tried the pre-qual and got this.

"We are unable to locate any special credit card offers for you at this time.

This may be because you have opted out of "pre-screened" offers from Chase and other companies or you have recently responded to another offer from Chase.

However, we may still have products to meet your needs. Please continue to the website".

I guess there trying to force me into app'ing

And the 21% is nothing it was 45% but I paid it down. I will pay 21% down once I get paid. I was trying to force them into giving me a cli.

I will wait on asking discover for one, until I hear back from cap 1.

I didn't want to get it in december and  go christmas shopping with it, then they look at me as a high risk or something. I wanted to atleast have it for a month or two.

Re: Should I try my luck?

I've gotten that same message recently and I know I haven't opted out on anything or accepted another offer with them (other than my BP gas card), so I guess that's their way of saying neither of us qualify for anything yet.

Re: Should I try my luck?

I was wondering if I was the only one. But I think I'm going to cross my fingers and pull the trigger. Since either way I'm headed to the garden approved or not. I just rather have 3 cards instead of 2.

Hope to come back with good news. Fingers crossed.
