No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I agree with LS on the Cap One. Since it is a secured card your credit limit will be whatever money is in the account that secures it. I would also suggest you get a VISA or Mastercard that is not secured at some point in time. If some thing fruadulant happens to WF Visa debit card the re-imbursment is not going to be like a credit card. The porcess can take a while IE several weeks. Remember ia debit card does not have a zero percent fraud liability like a credit card.
I would get rid of FP now, as in, TODAY!
Does the Cap One have an AF? You may qualify for a Barclays at the moment. Even denials turn into approvals with a lot of recons and it's a mastercard/visa.
@Denny33142 wrote:On May of last year i opened a First Premier account because i had a low credit score and no one else would approve me, however now my scores are much better (mid 600's), I am now wondering if i should close the account since i am going to get hit with the annual fee on May (it is like $120), I pretty much only use the card once a month in order for it to show activity but other than that i have no use for it.
I also have a Secured Capital One credit card with a limit of $250 which i got back in June of last year, today i tried calling them to see if i can get an unsecured limit increase and they told me that they periodically review accounts but that i currently did not have any offers, basically they pretty much told me NO, i have had no late payments and have also kept utilization under 30%. I do not plan to close this account since the annual fee is only around $30 but it does piss me off that they do not want to give me an increase even after almost a year of perfect history.
What are your suggestions? should i close the First Premier? and do you guys have any advice on how to get an increase on the cap one?
Current Cards:
First Premier: $300 Limit (Opened 05/11)
Capital One: $250 Limit (Opened 06/11)
American Express Zync: No Limit (Opened 09/11)
Discover Card: 1000 Limit (Opened 03/12)
First Premier needs to dissappear! Cap 1 needs to go too!

That rhymes and sounds like a cheer or protest chant - the board should start using it!
Just picture it with all of us myficoers holding up signs that say that!
Kill off the FP, I recently did and feel good about not paying $7.00 a month plus annual card cost.!
