Hi everyone! This is a lively debate and apppreciate everyone staying friendly and supportive.
Here are my views... the application asks for a housing payment amount, you should enter your mortgage amount plus related HOA fees. if the application does not ask, then you are ok not entering the information on the application.
If your mortgage does not report, to the bureaus... You should still state the payment amount IF the application asks for housing. if your spouse pays the mortgage and it is not in your name, it is acceptable to put either 0 or to check a box that says you are not responsible.
If you own your home free and clear, then you may enter 0.
Do not enter false or misleading information on any application for credit for the purpose of obtaining a better chance of approval, as this is considered fraud, as several members have already mentioned.
Again thanks everyone for staying respectful during the discussion of this topic!
