When you apply for a job or some other non purchase type of situation and they tell you they need to pull your credit and you say "Make my day".

If you go to buy a new car and they ask how your credit is and play dumb, smilling to yourself.

When you apply for instant credit in a store and they blink first,

What's the significance of the PLUS score?

Well, I suppose the significance is that they are not FICO scores, but if you just want to keep tabs on all three reports, they're just fine.  USAA isn't Fico either, I can't remember what scoring system they use, but the abiilty to puill all three reports daily is all I really need.  I also have ScoreWatch to keep tabs on my EQ Fico, but probably don't really need it.

USAA also provides PLUS scores.  The USAA service is really supplied by Experian.

Ooo, I got another sign!  When you're upset after you apply for a card and they don't send you the FICO score that they used because they gave you the absolute best APR/terms offered.  Or perhaps this is not the next step, but the final step of the process.
