So I was approved for freedom. ....

A couple days ago with a starting line of $3k and I read on the instant approval that if the line didn't meet my needs to call when I received my card in the mail. Im thinking I would really like this to be a a $5k card. I kno its gonna be another hard pull but I figure if im gonna be in the garden till 2016 might as well get it out of the way now since all my inqs have been this month. My question is what do I say to recon when I call?

Pretty much what you just said it doesnt meet your needs.  They will probably ask what the line will be for, I always say I wanted to take advantage of the rewards on the card (this month is lowes).  Maybe you have some home improvement in your future?  Thats what I'd tell them, seems they like to hear your going to use it.

Re: So I was approved for freedom. ....

What other cards do u have? What's your highest limit. Also before taking the hp on a cli which may or may not happen, I recommend applying for the csp. It's a great card to have with the freedom as your freedom points can be transferred over. Plus you will get atleast a 5k line if approved so you would get 8k total not a bad deal. Just be prepared to spend 3500 in 3 months for the two sign up bonuses. But if you don't want the csp which I highly recommend you do, ask for way more than 5k. Ask for like 10k and see what happens the will probably counter you.
