OP said yes, details are on the first page of this thread.
Yippee! I was approved. The credit line is 3500. which I was hoping it would be 7500. BUT I am planning on using the BT feature so I can get rid of some of the higher interest credit cards. This means I will BT 2 cards at a time and pay off each BT asap. Then move onto 2 more and do the same.
Per a underwriter today, 690 TU score and you are approved....I came in at a 689 and she wouldn't do anything with the 1 point. My EQ is 728, should I callback? Its 1 point.
Maybe next month your score will be up?
Wow, that's so frustrating! It's odd that they have criteria like that and that they were willing to share it with you. I've spoken with several underwriters at different banks and CUs before deciding whether or not to apply with them, and no one has ever shared their criteria so explicitly. It seems like they would look at more than just your score; though the 690 FICO may be their minimum requirements.
If any of your CCs are reporting balances and you pay them down/off, your score should go up after it posts to your CR. So, that's one option. If it were me, I would probably go ahead and call them on Monday and see if you may get further with someone else. It does seem silly that 1 point should keep you from being approved; it probably depends on how flexible they are and on how much leeway their underwriters have.
Good luck! I hope you get approved on recon.
I wish my score would go up in the next few days BUT I just took out a new auto loan for $21500 at the beginning of May, so I'm sure it will go down. I'm planning to pay about $18000 of it off this month. I had my money tied up when I bought it.
I may try to call on Monday just to see. She just said, you missed it by 1 point. I was wondering if I freeze TU and do a new app with EQ, that score is 728, if that would work?
I do know Nationwide pulled TU for my credit card.
