Spending requirement for A Visa Sig? with Citi

I called up and asked if I can change my citi to see if i can get a Mastercard version instead of the visa for my TYP card. They said a year. So I went ahead and asked if I can get it upgraded to a Siggy and the guy said I would need to hit internal spending to hit a flag to get it to change huh? Something to do with some contract with Visa and some proprietary formulas with them . That is the first I have heard of something like that. 

Probably won't reach the spending to get it since this isn't one of my go to cards but oh well 

OH the customer Service was fantastic though 5 stars out of 5.

They do, I applied for the citi Hilton Honors card it was a Signature visa,  denied, got the non-sigy  visa instead. 

if they have one sigy card they have more.

I went to check after I posted...lol. I never noticed it on their site before. I have almost 10k credit line with them on a non-siggy card. Lol.

Marriott is Chase 

Also my Mother has a TYP siggy card so I know they exist. Guy also said as much

Hmm...I could have sworn they had a Marriott card as well..I think they only have HHonors then.

I Have a Marriott premier card myself... From Chase

They have them as their Hotel partner
