Since I select my cards entirely based on looks... (bwahahahaha)
If I had been a little better edumachated, I would have done the SG SP (shopping cart trick) first before the other retail cards & the other several HPs on my credit. I'm pretty sure that, plus the fact that my CCs are all new (within 2 weeks) is why I got not a peep from SG.
So planning ahead, I'm now in the garden waiting for the HPs to age, and my new almost $9k in TL to report and show a beautiful util. Goal is not to carry a balance on any more than 2 cards at a time while I'm making an initial purchase on each of the retail cards (the 2 jewelry cards are frightening and exciting all at once! Immagine the bling!) I'm also planning to try for some CLIs in the next 3-6 months depending on the card.
Later, at least 6 months to a year from now, I'll go for one or two "real" cards and/or try to unsecure the secured ones. But I'm wondering if anyone has thoughts on the SG shopping cart trick? I'll keep trying every month or so, but how long do you think it might try to produce? I love that this card gives a decent limit with a SP. When will my 10 or so HPs matter little enough that I might get the offer? Anyone else have experience related?
IIRC, the scores are around 700 for the SG Visa

+1 to this.
I'm interested in this when I qualify. It'd be a nice replacement for that awful Credit One card of mine.
I didn't get the popup until my EQ went above 700...
Good to know. Thanks all! It will take a little groundwork to get there, but after the baddies come off & he inquiries age & the util goes up (new ccs will report) and pmts are regular, I'll be sittin pretty!
I think I'll wait until I touch the 7s

I try this every once in a while just for fun...sometimes it works and sometines it doesnt but ive been in the 660-687 range and got the pop up...
Good to know. I think this can be a good thing. But if I wait until the 700s, I have a better chance of starting with a good CL.

I'm pretty sure people getting that card are starting out with pretty plump limits.
